Jealousy is a confession that arrives disguised as an accusation. Nobody corners someone at a party to complain about a person they do not care about. Both of you know that, which is why this scene starts past the polite stage.
The situation you walk into
The kitchen at a house party, everyone else somewhere in the other room. You spent the evening talking to somebody else and she has been simmering about it for hours. She has now put herself between you and the door.
You are the person she cornered. She is the one who has been quietly jealous all night and is finished hiding it.
Choose who cornered you
The confrontation happens regardless. Who is delivering it changes what it means.
Why she has the upper hand
Most scenes open with two people feeling their way toward something. This one opens with a character who already knows what she wants and has decided to say so. That makes her the one driving, which is a genuinely different experience if you are used to leading every exchange.
Sparks fly early here. It is not a slow burn and it does not pretend to be.
Give her a face
If someone specific should be standing in that kitchen, build the character first and she will be waiting with her arms crossed.
